Celebrating 300 Weeks of the Madonna Program

By Mission of Hope

The last week of November marked a remarkable milestone for Mission of Hope: the 300th week of the Madonna Program.

At the end of 2019, Pam Moffett—former board member extraordinaire—proposed an outreach initiative to enroll pregnant women in a new maternal health program she named the Madonna Program. That inspired idea became the beginning of a journey that continues to transform lives today.

The Madonna Program provides prenatal care, encouragement, and medical support to expectant mothers served by the Hatfield–Archer Memorial Hospital in Rotifunk, Sierra Leone. In communities where access to maternal care can be limited, the program has become a lifeline for mothers and babies alike.

The impact has been extraordinary. As of November 30, 2025, 399 babies have been born this year alone through the Madonna Program.

Madonna Program Impact by Year

  • 2019: 1

  • 2020: 234

  • 2021: 291

  • 2022: 345

  • 2023: 348

  • 2024: 379

  • 2025: 399 (through November)

Total: 1,997 healthy babies

Each number represents a child born safely, a mother supported, and a family strengthened. These births are a testament to the dedication of the hospital staff, the commitment of Mission of Hope, and the generosity of donors who believe that every mother and child deserves care and hope.

May God continue to bless the work of Mission of Hope, the Hatfield–Archer Memorial Hospital, and all who support this life-giving program.
